Chateau Curtain Panel, Antique French Fabric in Blue, Grey
This is a beautiful, rococo-inspired design curtain panel from late 19th-century France (c. 1880)! It is made up of alternating rows of Prussian blue and soft grey. With a design that features urns, rose garlands and birds -- it is very typical of the style and period, and so French! It is in excellent condition, with only very slight signs of wear: some slight (very pale) yellowing in places, and a couple small (difficult to find) spots. Overall it is quite stunning, in vivid colors slightly softened with a patina of age.
This single curtain panel measures 66-1/2 inches wide by 104 inches long and is ready to be hung, with a hand stitched hem at top and bottom. It is made up of two lengths of fabric, hand-stitched down the middle. Although the seam aligns with the vertical grey bands correctly, it does not align with the placement of the urns (though this is hard to see when it is hung and gathered).
This beautiful fabric can be used as a curtain, but would also be lovely made into a bed covering, pillows or light upholstery. It is perfect for a period room!
