Saturday’s “Designing with Vintage” with Gail Smith-Peterson
A Season To Gather
Shorter days bring change to our schedule. Dinners are earlier and we spend a little more time when we are gathering. Waking up to a little crisp morning air has been nice! Living in Southern California I really look forward to this change and of course, entertaining becomes like fall fashion!
This is the time of year you can start layering your decor. Texture and natural elements add instant coziness.
Generous table linens cover up the bare table legs like a gown.
Stacking different shapes and patterns of plates is more casual. Also implies a lingering meal.
A large vintage bowl filled with apples welcomes everyone with the glow from floating candles.
Some type of flame from a lantern or candle creates a warm ambiance.
Garden elements are great pieces to nestle in for adding texture, so beautiful with vintage silver.
The best part is you don’t have to change a thing, to move your gathering outdoors!
My design tip: To get this look cozy autumn look, layer linens, plates, with candles or lanterns. Use natural elements like wood, twigs, leafs, apples for center piece or place setting markers. Vintage silver and glasses add to the gathering experience.
Have a gorgeous weekend!
