Add industrial-chic style to your bathroom or laundry room with utilitarian sinks
Vintage European sinks called slop sinks, were used for filling up deep buckets with water and taking them to the barn. Heavy washing and cleaning were made easier with these sinks because of the large basins. Highly practical for hand washing clothing and large items.
I found this oversized slop sink in Los Angeles in an architectural salvage store. I saw it sitting on the floor and I fell in love with it! I had to have it. Knowing I had a perfect place for it in the Butler’s pantry I am designing.
The slop sink will go through a restoration process and I can’t wait to see the finished product. I was going through some of my vintage linens to find what piece will be used for the apron skirt. I have it narrowed down to these!
My Design tip: When you are renovating a kitchen, laundry or bath think vintage pieces...they make a strong statement . One of a kind vintage sinks and tubs can be restored beautifully.
Have a beautiful Saturday... Hot here in SoCal!
