Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran's Dimore Studio in Milan focuses on classicism creating interiors that are not trendy, but timeless and full of character.  The duo certainly does not shy away from the unexpected placement of furniture and accessories.  Enjoy the beauty!

Wow!  It's been a busy summer for me.  I've been working on a couple projects so I haven't been able to find the time to blog,  I was also feeling a bit lazy and uninspired to be perfectly honest but the energy in New York during fall is like no other.  It inspires me!  My desire to get out and about and explore during this time of year always gives me a boost of creativity and excitement.  I also do a bulk of my research during this time of year.  So that all being said, during my new found boost of energy and some research, I stumbled upon Muriel Bardinet -designer, architect and store owner of Dune 234 located in Ixelles, the Belgian capital.  Muriel's home, once and orphanage and a Japanese restaurant is now charming and full of life after some major renovating.  The combination of Moroccan decor and Scandinavian creates magic. Here is to wishing you lots of inspiration and magic in your own lives this season!!  Happy Fall everyone.  Cheers!!

I'm looking forward to a handful of books that are coming out this fall, but this one is going to be amazing!  Francois Halard's haunting photography in Interiors / Atelier AM out September 25.

Sometimes it is hard to figure out why I like certain things ~ a fragrance ~ a color ~ a great pair of shoes.  In my case...recently I have had a love affaire with white floors I know...it should be ice cream or guys with great style or small fat little puppies but nah...white floors it is. It is the clean simpleness that draws me to them  are they practical?  don't know and who cares they just have the "it" thing.  I am thinking....no...considering could you? Would you?

A pickle? Or a  glaze? Should I?

Dolce Far Niente meaning ~ "Sweet Idleness".  The Florentine architect Michele Bonan   is the author of the reform of this former mill located in Friuli. Although the interior underwent a profound transformation, the exterior remains true to its original style, now a romantic and charming garden with its walls covered with roses and jasmine, and its wrought iron furniture French style. Absolutely delicious turquoise and green shades that transform the environment into a wellness oasis that invites the dolce far niente ....

Thanks to Desde my Ventana for her lovely photos and blog posts - who we love!

Sweet Vintage Summer Blues

Anticipating summer...I think most of us love to dream of those laid back interiors that are really effortless. Where lounging around is expected. Entertaining implies, a come as you are, hang out and relax!

Vintage wood little dresser and mirror all faded and loved in a pale blue.

A vintage rag top, just barely blue. Near a charming cottage

Ok, as mother of boys, this is a classic!  Barefoot boys in overalls on the tailgate of vintage truck!

This tile is beautiful...Just a vintage farm sink and you have a stunning kitchen! So pretty in a bath with a crisp white bath tub. With tile like this the rest of the space should be simple, not to compete.

Who wants a ride to get some ice cream? Hop on this sweet vintage blue Vespa.

My design tip: Summer style is all about relaxed and comfy spaces. Adding some vintage fabrics like ticking, seersucker and linen are timeless, plus easy to care for.

Visit me here for Saturday’s “Designing with Vintage” with Gail Smith-Peterson ~ Hope your summer weekend is sweeeeet!
