I'm looking forward to a handful of books that are coming out this fall, but this one is going to be amazing!  Francois Halard's haunting photography in Interiors / Atelier AM out September 25.

We are loving this Swedish Home and the beautiful Kakelugn (tiled stove) in the corner of the room. These date back to the 1880's neo-renaissance era, we love that it's featured in the kitchen. The home was for sale at Alvhem.

Thanks to "My Scandinavian Home" who we love!

Dolce Far Niente meaning ~ "Sweet Idleness".  The Florentine architect Michele Bonan   is the author of the reform of this former mill located in Friuli. Although the interior underwent a profound transformation, the exterior remains true to its original style, now a romantic and charming garden with its walls covered with roses and jasmine, and its wrought iron furniture French style. Absolutely delicious turquoise and green shades that transform the environment into a wellness oasis that invites the dolce far niente ....

Thanks to Desde my Ventana for her lovely photos and blog posts - who we love!

There is something about the neutral palette, whether you start with the color of your walls, floors or furniture there is something pure. Even just picking out two neutral colors like white and cream and then adding a touch of chocolate brown to the mix.  Designing with a neutral palette can be timeless; it makes a home look elegant, yet effortless. With a neutral palette, one can spice up a room with just a subtle pop of modernity in color or décor.  We love neutral, There is something pure about white + cream.  Enjoy!

Ett Hem is Swedish for "A Home"  however this is not a home, it's a hotel located in Stockholm.  The interior designer is Ilse Crawford and architect is Fredrik Dahlberg.  The owner says that this is not a luxurious hotel, but that it's one where you see, touch and enjoy luxurious elements.  I'm ready for a vacation, and I think this will be on the top of my list!  Enjoy.

Antonio Martins.  Simply understated and unpretentious!  Martins choices of furnishings and art are unexpected, this is why I appreciate his work.  His designs has a sense of quirkiness and sophistication - two great styles to combine.  All quirky or just all sophistication is too much in one space, but when you combine two different moods it creates comfort, warmth and interest.  His eye to scale is amazing - choosing large chunky marbles or over scaled mantels and rustic furniture paired with some softer accessories is brilliant. And those white walls!!
